Game Drawing

I think that my final piece ended up turning out really well with all the water color and colored pencil. I feel that I could have added more detail to the square though. This project really helped me learn how to make perspective drawings. I liked using the water color so that it was easier to mix the colors without making it too dark. If I redid this project then I would use the horizon line and points more rather than just eyeballing where everything would go. This project was relatively easy in the end.

Final Printing

In the picture above I have finally started to use my starfish stamp to make prints. We all had to put ink on the table and roll it out on to our stamps to make a final product. The prints you see on the papers above were just trial runs. A lot of the time I didn't press down hard enough in certain spots or I pressed down too hard in other spots. If you pressed down too hard then ink will fill all the holes that you had cut out to begin with. I think the overall product of my print turned out good because I had a good background with textue and my starfish had a lot of texture too. I think that I could have had more space where there was no ink so it would have balanced out better. I added texture by cutting little hole in the sand and cutting out the sides of the starfish to make it pop out more. Below I have posted some of my final products.

Print Sketch

Texture is really important to have in your drawing so you have different heights for you to ink and carve out. If your animal doesn't really have texture then it is going to be hard to see the difference of your darks and

your lights. When looking at your sketches it is easy to tell which one would make the best piece because it has a lot of texture and think black and whites. It was necassary to have different references of each animal because then it was easier to pick which one to draw. Having different backgrounds was good too.



Interactive Chalk

In the beginning none of us could figure out what we wanted to draw. Then we ended up all agreeing on roasting marshmellows over a fire. Working as a team made it easier because certain people had better art skills in certain areas. I think our project worked out really well once we got all the right pastels and chalks blended together. I really enjoyed making art that people liked taking pictures in front of because it was cool to see that people liked interacting with our work.  

We all started off with tracing all the shapes that we could see really well. While I was doing my drawing I found it kind of diffucult through out the darker shadows because it was way harder to see all the details compared to the lighter side. When I was doing the different values the shadow and light made it easy to see what parts I would do lighter and what parts I would do darker. I don't think i achieved the full range of value, but I think that I did pretty well on making my darks dark and my lights light. I could have done some things different shades though instead of just sticking to two obvious different shades.
